Ink & Draw - Botanical drawing with Laxmi Hussain

Laxmi will be teaching her mindful drawing techniques in ink and pen to explore botanical drawing. Using inks with a brush and various warm-up techniques in pen and charcoal, to understand botanical forms and exploring the materials provided.
You do not need to have any drawing experience to join, all welcome to participate.
All materials provided. Every participant will be presented with a selection of hand-picked materials to use during the class and to take home with them to continue to use, including ink, a brush, a pen, charcoal, various papers, a presentation folder and some extra goodies.
Participants under 16 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are non-refundable.
BOTANICAL EMBROIDERY MASTERCLASS WITH LISA FREEMAN
Create a botanical embroidery hoop! Lucy will teach you contemporary embroidery techniques used specifically for hoop art, an easy to learn, quick, experimental way to embroider.
This extended masterclass will cover designing botanical imagery and all the stitches needed to create embroidery art. All sewing materials, hoops, imagery stencils and fabric are provided, to be taken home after the class so you can continue your masterpiece!
This workshop, run at Paperdolls Handmade Market, will be in a small group of 8 leaving plenty of time and space for Lucy to help you personally. Tickets are £45 per person and the workshop lasts for two and half hours.
Carve a Silver Ring with The Quarter Workshop

Working with jewellers wax we will show you how to use a variety of hand tools to get really creative and carve a ring which we will the cast in solid sterling silver for you after the event, finish and polsih before sending your finished ring back to you in the post.
You can get really creative with the wax, making textures, sculpting and shaping. Two ring waxes will be provided ( one for practice) as well as lots of top tips from our expert jewellery tutors who will be on hand to help guide you through the process.
Your workshop includes tuition, wax, casting of your wax design in solid silver after the event, finishing and polishing by us and return postage of your finished ring by 1st class signed for.
Silver Pendant with The Quarter Workshop

Join us to make a sterling silver pendant which you can personalise with words, dates, patterns or textures.
Working with silver sheet we will show you how to use the jeweller saw to cut out a shape for your pendant, file and finish the edges, add patterns, textures or even words with metal stamps before polishing and adding a sterling silver chain to complete your design.
All tools and also practice materials will also be provided
Seasonal hand tied bouquet with Hedge

Rachel from Hedge will show you how to build a bouquet using beautiful seasonal and British flowers and foliage in the Hedge style.

Lampshade workshop with Mustard Home+Style
2.30 - 5pm
Master how to make your own stylish fabric lampshade for a ceiling pendant or lamp base. In this 2 hour workshop you will make a 30cm diameter drum lampshade in a fabric of your choice and learn how to get a professional finish to your shade.
All materials will be provided, including a range of fabrics to choose from, or if you wish to bring your own fabric that's fine - you will need approx. 1m x 25cm of a cotton or linen fabric - nothing too thick!
The 30cm lampshade workshop costs £38, and if you want to go large, you can upgrade to a 40cm shade for an additional £10. You can also go for some opulence by selecting a metallic gold lining, also for an additional £10. If you wish to upgrade please select the appropriate option on booking.

Terrarium Workshop with geo-fleur

Come and get your hands dirty and create a closed terrarium using polka dot plants and fittonia at Paperdolls Handmade Market, Custard Factory in Birmingham.
geo-fleur will provide everything required - the apothecary bottle, stones, activated charcoal, soil and fittonia - showing you the steps to create your own ecosystem garden. There will also be advice of how to maintain your closed terrarium.
Included in the ticket are all the materials to make a demijohn terrarium that you will be able to take home with you in a geo-fleur bag.
Also included in the workshop is a 10 minute Q&A session during which you can ask plant guru, founder of geo-fleur and author of Living with Plants - Sophie Lee - any plant questions you may have.

PR & Photography with 91 Magazine

In this 2 hour workshop, 91 Magazine editor Caroline Rowland will share insight into how to get your indie brand noticed by magazine editors and bloggers. She will talk about social media, photography, press releases and how best to approach the right people in publishing. Then, 91 photographer Jemma Watts will give a mini masterclass in photography. She will share practical advice and creative insight into how to up your photography game – essential for getting noticed and getting featured!
The workshop is part of the Paperdolls Handmade market at the Custard Factory in Birmingham. The fair will bring together a number of makers and artisans selling homewares, ceramics, art, beauty and more. Come along to our workshop and spend the rest of the day shopping at the fair!
Ceramic wall animal with Claire Paveley

Come and join Claire and her ceramic animal friends for an animazing mindful clay animal creating workshop at Paperdolls Handmade. This clay animal workshop is being run by Claire herself who will personally take you through the makery steps of creating your very own ceramic animal, helping and creating alongside you so you get to hand build your own animal to decorate your space at home.
The ceramics created will go back with Claire to be fired in her studio kiln she will then package carefully and post first class signed for service to you.
No experience is necessary to join this wonderful small workshop of up to 8 makers.

Modern Calligraphy Workshop with studio Oudizo

Spend a fun afternoon with us at the Paperdolls Handmade Market learning the basics of modern calligraphy. Whether you're planning to address invitation envelopes, add something extra to your thank you cards, or just looking to learn a new hobby or skill, this beginner calligraphy class is for you!
Pretty handwriting is not required in order to be good at calligraphy (trust me, my handwriting is atrocious). All you need to know is how to hold a pen. You will learn how to use a traditional dip pen and nib, mark making, letterforms, word formation and simple flourishing.
All calligraphy materials (yours to keep!) will be provided. Just bring your lovely selves!
